Welcome to Everyday Pie! Thanks for stopping by!
Everyday Pie is a site dedicated to sharing recipes for pies, pastry and beyond! On Everyday Pie you can find recipes for:
- Pies that are easy and can be made for a special weeknight dinner treat (like this No-Bake Cannoli Pie).
- Pies that are more complex and take multiple steps, and sometimes multiple days to make, but are so out-of-this-world delicious that the end result is worth the means (think: Mississippi Mud Pie).
- Pies that are meant for dinner (hello: Zucchini Pie with Goat Cheese and Herbs).
- All the holiday pies!
- Recipes that teach you basic pastry skills (such as How to Make Choux Pastry).
- Fun recipes, like Homemade Brown Sugar Pop Tarts, that are perfect for baking with your kids.
But Everyday Pie is more than that as well. Because making pie sometimes involves more than just a pastry and a filling and a bake. This site is where you will find all that you need to know about baking pies, whether you are a novice cook, or an expert.
You'll find essential cooking recipes, like how to make caramelized onions or the perfect whipped cream that are directly related to pie, but also recipes that will improve your cooking skills and hopefully make you just as passionate about cooking as I am.
If you are just here for the recipe--that's fine. You can scroll down to the bottom. But the space in between is where I shall all my secrets for truly mastering the recipe, and avoiding any pitfalls.
About the Baker Behind Everyday Pie
Hi! I’m Kelli! Welcome to my little space on the internet all about making pie. I’m the creator of Everyday Pie and the woman behind all of the recipes, writing and the photographs on this site.
I started this website out of sheer passion. Despite what changes have come my way over the last 10 years, one thing has stayed consistent in my life, and that is my connection and love for baking pies, and more broadly my unwavering need to be connected to food and cooking.
Who I am, Then and Now
I am a recipe developer and a baker by trade, with 10 years of professional cooking experience, as well as BA in communication. After spending many years cooking on the line in Boston area restaurants in bakeries, and after the birth of my two kids, I started my own baking company delivering hot savory and sweet pies to busy families looking for an easy delicious meal.
While running this business I was diagnosed with a severe allergy to gluten flours, causing me to have to shutter my business to avoid constant contact with large batches of raw flour and knowing I'd likely never return to cooking in professional settings where wheat flour was present. At that point, I made the transition over to work in freelance recipe development so I could still fulfill my passion for cooking and baking, while also teaching others how to create delicious food.
About the Recipes on Everyday Pie
This website will primarily focus on recipes containing traditional wheat flour. My passion lies here, and I love working with flour. However, because of my allergy, I've been able to dive deep into the world of gluten-free baking. There are many amazing gluten-free flours that I too love working with. So occasionally, I'll share some gluten-free recipes that will be loved by everybody (such as these Oat and Buckwheat Chocolate Chip Cookies).
