Ultimate Apple Pie
This classic Apple Pie recipe features layers of juicy apples laced with spices baked inside of the flakiest pie crust. It is the ultimate apple pie thanks to a few extra special techniques and ingredients.

Assemble the flaky pie crust in a stand mixer.
Roll out the flaky pie crust and give it a few folds, to create flaky layers.
Macerate the apples and sugars, at least 20 minutes, then strain out the liquid.
Combine the strained apple liquid and apple cider and reduce it to make an apple caramel.
Place the pie crust in your pie plate, add in the sliced apples and then pour the caramel over the top.
Top the assembled pie as desired with a lattice or a full pie crust. Brush it with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake until the pastry is golden and the filling is bubbly, about 55-65 minutes.
Let the baked pie cool on a wire rack for about 2-4 hours before serving.
