Spiced Blackberry Pie
This Spiced Blackberry Pie merges the best of two seasons. Delicious, juicy blackberries are tucked inside a flaky crust and spiced just right with cinnamon, allspice, ginger and a touch of cloves.
-fresh orange juice (as in, from an actual orange)
-spices: cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves
-pie crust (recipe included)

Make the pie crust by hand, or optionally in a food processor.
Wrap the pastry in plastic and let it rest in the refrigerator, preferably overnight.
When ready to make the pie, roll out the bottom and the top crust.
Combine all the filling ingredients in a bowl and toss to coat. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the sugars are dissolved.
Place the pie crust in your pie plate and add in the blackberry filling.
Top the assembled pie as desired with a lattice or a full pie crust. Brush it with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake until the pastry is golden and the filling is bubbly, about 55-65 minutes.
Let the baked pie chill on a wire rack for about 2-4 hours before serving.
