Almond Apple Rose Pie

As pretty as it is delicious, this Almond Apple Rose Pie features thinly sliced apples arranged to look like a rose, on top of a layer of almond frangipane, baked in a flaky pie crust.

Prepare the buttery pie crust using a pastry blender or your hands.

MAKE PIE CRUST

Roll out pie crust and decorate the edge as desired. This decorative edge was made by cutting the crust edge with scissors.

Slice apples to about 1/8" thickness, and then cut into half moons.

SLICE APPLES

Add lemon juice and sugar to sliced apples and macerate for 10 minutes before draining.

Beat together almond cream in an electric mixer.

MAKE ALMOND CREAM

Add almond cream to prepared pastry and then lay the apples on top in concentric circles.

Bake the assembled pie until the filling is puffed up and mostly set up.
