Shepherd's Pie

There is no way to describe Shepherd's Pie other than pure comfort food. This homey casserole has a base of ground beef and veggies in a savory sauce, topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

PREP TIME: 40 mins

– ground beef  – veggies – yukon gold potatoes – milk – butter – potato starch or cornstarch – tomato paste – worcestershire sauce – dried thyme – beef broth – salt and pepper

COOK TIME: 45 mins

Add potatoes to a pot, cover with water and boil until tender.

MAKE MASHED POTATOES

Drain them, return them to the pot and add in milk, butter, salt, garlic powder and pepper and mash together.

Cook the ground beef, mushrooms and veggies and then make the savory beef gravy.

Transfer the beef filling to an oven safe dish. Alternatively you can make it directly in an oven safe dish.

Gently place the mashed potatoes on top of the beef filling.
