Banana Cream Pie

Homemade vanilla pudding is studded with fresh banana, topped with silky whipped cream and tucked inside of a vanilla wafer and walnut crust.

– bananas – sugar – cornstarch – eggs and egg yolks – whole milk – vanilla extract – unsalted butter – vanilla wafers - walnuts - heavy cream

COOK TIME: 12 MIN

Process vanilla wafers and walnuts, then combine with butter and sugar. Press into a pie plate and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool.

MAKE THE PIE CRUST

Whisk sugar, cornstarch and eggs until it forms a paste. Next, add in the milk and heat the mixture slowly & whisk continually.

MAKE THE PUDDING

Next, strain the cooked pudding and add the butter and vanilla. Then fold in the bananas.

MAKE THE PUDDING

Pour the pudding into the prepared pie crust and smooth over the top. Chill the pie for at least 3 hours or overnight.

CHILL THE PIE

Whipe together heavy cream, cheam cheese and sugar until soft peaks form.

MAKE THE WHIPPED CREAM

Add the whipped cream on top of the pie as desired, and optionally top with additional fresh bananas.

Serve immediately or keep chilled up to 4 hours until ready to serve.
